Welcome to our final devlog! We will tell you all about our latest features!
To bring our game to the next level we decided to focus on player feedback.
We added some wiggle animations when a monkey is caught by the catcher. We also show a smoke effect so you know you got caught. The smashing particle didn't feel good previously so we changed the timing to fit the animation better and made quite some tweaks to it also adding smoke when you hit an object so there is more interaction between what the player does en what happens with the environment.
We created a point/oxygen adding effect so its more visual.
We made sure the catcher now grabs the monkey with his hand
To make sure new players understand what they need to do, we added a tutorial to the beginning of the game, where we show the oxygen tank and the cage. The first round, the game will also start with a counter.
We fixed a lot of bugs in our game and gave it some finishing touches as well such as a nice image for the main menu.
